Ways to work together

Designed for your community.

Every engagement can be shaped for students, faculty, families, artists, or the wider community.

01

Artist in Residence

Custom residencies for schools, colleges, museums, and cultural organizations. Engagements can range from a single day to several weeks and may explore filmmaking, storytelling, identity, creative practice, and what it means to live as an artist.

02

Screenings and Conversations

A film screening becomes the beginning of a larger experience. André invites audiences to find themselves in the work and facilitates honest conversations about the questions, histories, and possibilities the film brings into view.

03

Workshops and Master Classes

Sessions for students, educators, artists, and community groups can explore directing, documentary storytelling, interviewing, visual language, collaboration, and building a sustainable creative life.

Speaking and Keynotes

Stories can move a room and move a community forward.

André brings the intimacy of a facilitated conversation to commencements, assemblies, keynotes, and major institutional gatherings. Each address is shaped for the people in the room and the moment they are entering together.

A beautiful moment

“I went into schools with a little movie over a decade ago encouraging institutions to change. I was one of many asking for reconstruction.”

This photograph gathers just some of the heads of color at independent schools across America. André knows and deeply admires many of these leaders. Their work is essential, challenging, and too often lonely.

In her words

“André uses film not simply to document events, but to invite audiences into meaningful conversations about the stories we tell, the stories we inherit, and the stories we choose to preserve. I have known André for over 15 years, and he is simply incredible.”
