Directed by André Robert Lee, Virtually Free follows Sid, Taee, and AR, three young people held in a Richmond, Virginia, detention center who are given the opportunity to become activists and speak truth to power.
Working with artists from Performing Statistics, they use art and a virtual reality jail cell to carry their experiences into public conversations with law enforcement and government officials. The award winning film asks communities to imagine meaningful alternatives to youth incarceration.
